By Monica Magnetti For all the people who ask me if I coach my clients in the Law of Attraction, the answer is yes, partially. I integrate some principles of the Law of Attraction—the ones I consider to be the “common sense” components of the law—for example: To attract something, you have to know what it is in finely tuned detail. Rather than endeavoring to attract fast cars and diamond rings in some passive way, I support my clients in living their life with full intention. This enacts the Zen of Creation, my concept that recognizes our discerning capacity as creative, resourceful adults to design a life based on our authentic values and beliefs and to manifest that life by aligning our actions with those values and beliefs. The Zen of Creation is at the foundation of my book 30 Days to a New You: Get What You Want Through Authentic Change. This efficient breakthrough model gives you tools to get to know yourself for who you are in the moment, without judgment, and to then authentically reinvent yourself into the person who can achieve your definition of fulfillment and success. I see the Law of Attraction’s primary liability as this: if you only focus on the goal or object you want, you might get it, though you may also not get it, and that causes a lot of disappointment. Like the law of gravity, the Law of Attraction works only under certain conditions; furthermore, it doesn’t take into account the unknowable mystery of life. Do you want to rely on laws to create your fulfillment, or do you want an intentional life of openness and tranquillity no matter the ups and downs of life? How would it be if you had Zen? With my book 30 Days to a New You, I support people in shifting the focus from the goal/object only, to the grand-angle view of you that equally values the goal, the journey, and who you are while pursuing the goal. When you focus on your way of “being” and the learning lesson, you can only win—and, on top of that, you’re more likely to achieve the goal. If you sit under a tree waiting for the apple to fall, you might be waiting for a long time. Eventually the apple will fall, though it might also be rotten by the time it falls, or it might fall from the other side of the tree, out of your view, or the birds might get to it before it gets to you. The Zen Of Creation guides you to pick the apple when it is appropriate for you and when the apple is ready to be picked. The Zen of Creation is about intentionally getting to know yourself for who you are in the now,. You are the gardener of your life. We know that we are multifaceted; we can choose to be who we want to be to be our best. The Zen of Creation is about nurturing and growing who we are with limitless possibilities, with elegance and grace! |
