About the Artist

Andrea Padovani’s (@padovaniartist) life is divided into two parts: the first, in Italy, with a degree in political science and 7 years working in a large company, and the second, as a professional painter for 30 years.

He moved to Canada in 1997 and has enjoyed over 50 solo exhibitions between Europe, Asia and America, including the participation in the 2011 Venice Biennale.

Padovani believes that every painting has something to enrich the viewer. He is fascinated by light and he channels that magic in its paintings.

Pls also remember that mama bears and cubs are vulnerable to male bears and that they look for safety in residential areas. Pls don't betray them by calling COS or endangering them by getting too close or letting food out.

We noticed that there are reports of a mama bear with cubs moving around in our community. As we all know, being a single mom is a 24-hour hard job and could need all the support there can be. We would like to urge residents to keep their distance and give the bears space to move around.

Some bear guides and wildlife artists have reported their encounters with mama bears, where a mama bear would bring her cubs to the humans who were sitting there sightseeing, drawing or photographing. She would tree her cubs near the human and then go on with her business. The human was recruited to be a temporary babysitter.

Bears are intelligent animals. Mama bears sometimes go through our community with cubs to avoid conflict with bigger male bears. It is a sign of trust. Please respect this trust and don't add stress to her by approaching or crowding her.

And if they happen to find food, they will eat it. It makes no difference to a bear whether the food is on the trees, in a bird feeder or in a Garbage/Green can. To make sure they are not mislabelled as garbage bear or problem bear, it is our duty to keep our garbage secured, take in bird feeders in bear season and keep our properties free of food attractants.
